Writing this after a hectic few days sprinting over the finish line of my podcast launch, so bear with me.
Here’s what I learned this week:
1. Advertising automation is only getting bigger. In my personal opinion, I struggle to see a prosperous future for advertising agencies on Amazon. I think AI and ML are going to become so good in the next 1-3 years many larger firms will be able to bring PPC management in-house. But ultimately, you’ll still need someone to tell the machine what to do, so there’s hope yet.
2. Podcasting is good for networking. I actually got the idea from Russel Brunson’s book Traffic & Secrets, the idea is to essentially have your own ‘show’. Product brands could also replicate this idea, but adapt it slightly. It may be a Facebook group for instance, which many brands use with tremendous success to connect with their audience and encourage a sense of community from customers. We’ve got a training on this inside LaunchPod, you can go watch it for free here.
3. Micro-influencers should replace macro-influencers. I read a story of 1 woman messaging 2000 small players asking if they’d like free samples before launch, in exchange for a shoutout. She coupled it with building an email list via a VIP link on her Instagram/Facebook, nurturing that list to refer friends for an early launch, and generated $100k in sales without spending a dollar on ads. Andrew Shields discussed a similar strategy which I loved on the show recently – here.
4. Revolut has one of the best delivery experiences I’ve ever encountered. These guys aren’t just nailing the smallest number of clicks to sign-up (which is huge in today’s world), but they invoked an emotion when I opened their package the other day. This is what you want to strive for. I videoed myself but didn’t cover my card details so just found that video, skip to second 31 if you don’t like the foreplay.
Alright, I’m not gonna lie, just writing those 4 tired me out. So, I’m signing off!
PS: Pre-warning this week I’ll be sending a second email, and it’s a BLOODY BIG ONE – so keep an eye out!
